Sens, Cathedral Saint-Etienne

The west-end organ of the cathedral of Sens was built between 1722 and 1734 by Louis Lebé and Jean-François Mangin.

The case contained 32 stops distributed onto three manual keybords and a pedal of 29 notes, extended by Ravallement to 34 notes in 1774. Following sporadic work on the instrument (addition of an echo manual in 1823), the organ was reconstructed in 1890 in the romantic style by the Stoltz brothers of Paris. A significant portion of the old pipework was retained. Finally it was reconstructed in 1990 by the Boisseau & Cattiaux company, in the spirit of the original instrument. It comprises 48 speaking stops on four manuals and pedal.
