Already as a boy Daser was a member of the Münchener Hofkapelle and was in 1552 appointed as Choir master there. Already in 1563 he left Munich because Albrecht V. had convinced Orlando di Lasso in 1556 to come to Munich in order to hold this position.

On January 28, 1572 Daser became Hofkapellmeister in Stuttgart, a position he held until his death in 1589. Daser only composed sacred church music.
