Bart Naessens
After organ studies with Chris Dubois, Bart Naessens graduated from the Lemmens Institute, Leuven, with a Masters in Music, having studied organ with Prof. Luc Ponet, harpsichord with Kris Verhelst, and orchestral conducting with Edmond Saveniers. He participated in a number of master classes with Ben van Oosten, Leo Van Doeselaar, Menno Van Delft and Trevor Pinnock, among others. He is a much sought-after accompanist and performs both as a soloist as well as in chamber music ensembles throughout the world. He has worked with prominent musicians and ensembles such as Currende, Il Gardellino, Ensemble Explorations, Zefiro Torna, Collegium Vocale Gent, Collegium Instrumentale Brugense and the Flemish Radio Choir and Orchestra. Since 1999 Bart Naessens has been organist at the St-Gillis church in Bruges. He teaches organ and harpsichord at the academy in Blankenberge and at the Lemmens Institute in Leuven. Recently, he has been concentrating increasingly on conducting, and has frequently been engaged as a guest conductor. With soprano Amaryllis Dieltiens, he founded the Baroque ensemble Capriola Di Gioia.
