Bernard Tétu

Bernard Tétu leads an extremely prolific career as orchestra conductor, choral conductor and instructor of choral music.

He is considered to be one of the best interpreters of our time of 19th and 20th century French music. Among the 35 CDs that he has recorded, those of Berlioz, Fauré, Caplet, Debussy, Poulenc, etc. have received great distinctions and have henceforth served as references.

Regularly invited to various countries as orchestra conductor and choir director (Canada, Germany, Belgium, Spain, England, Poland, and China...), Bernard Tétu has directed the principal orchestras as well as the most outstanding professional vocal ensembles. In addition, he is often invited to give interpretation courses focused on French music.

Bernard Tétu created the first degree in France for professional choral conductors, at the National Conservatory of Music in Lyon. Over 50 graduates of this program currently hold professional conducting positions in France and abroad.

Bernard Tétu was named Commander in the French Order of Arts and Letters and, with his ensemble, received the Academy of Fine Arts Award at the Institut de France.
