Hyelin Lee, a Korean concert organist based in Stuttgart, performs works by Louis Vierne, Gabriel Fauré, Gabriel Pierné, and Marcel Dupré on the rarely heard Aristide Cavaillé-Coll organ (1874, III/42) of the great Basilica of Sainte-Anne-d’Auray (Brittany), one of the most important pilgrimage sites in France.
A special feature of this new Super Audio CD (5.1 and 2.0 stereo) includes, among other things, four piano works by Fauré in organ arrangements. We also hadn’t previously included Gabriel Pierné’s Trois Pièces in our program! The album is a rewarding discovery for lovers of French organ music from the late Romantic period. The 36-page booklet contains many illustrations.
