World premiere recordings of symphonic organ music by Nemesio Otaño S.J. (1880-1956) on the unaltered Aristide Cavaillé-Coll organ (III/37, 1889) of the Basilica of Loyola, Azpeitia (Spain).

The musical language of Padre Nemesio Otaño's organ works is elegant and innovative. His sacred organ works indicate a great veneration for composers like Wagner, Bruckner, Mahler or Strauss. The organ at Loyola takes its place in the series of masterworks of the Cavaillé-Coll firm, together with Saint-Sernin de Toulouse (built in the same year) and Saint-Rouen, Rouen (1890). It is the first time that a whole recording is dedicated to this wonderful and absolutely unaltered instrument! We have recorded these undiscovered works in multichannel surround in an acoustic with 10 seconds of reverberation. But already in stereo sound it's a thrilling experience... If you want to listen to fine symphonic organ music in pure Cavaillé-Coll sound, you should not miss this SACD.
